Seafood City Supermarket

CIWA works with over 150 business partners each and every year, and these partners make a significant impact in our community – by volunteering their time, their knowledge and insights, their space, or offering employment to newcomers in Calgary. This month, we would like to highlight Seafood City Supermarket and their commitment to offer quality and authentic, traditional Filipino specialties at the most affordable prices. Seafood City Supermarket has come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1989 to establishing itself as the premier Filipino supermarket chain in North America and now serving the growing Filipino-Canadian community. Seafood City Supermarket has been working with CIWA’s Line Cook Training Program for over one year. They have hired four CIWA clients since then and have provided space for CIWA staff to connect and engage with their customers. Through this partnership, Seafood City Supermarket provides employment and recruitment opportunities to many immigrant women in Calgary. Thank you, Seafood City Supermarket, for supporting the economic wellbeing of immigrant and refugee women in Calgary with work placement support and for making our community stronger!
