Employment Skills Training Program

Program Description

The Employment Skills Training Program helps immigrant women build practical, in-demand skills and prepare for the Canadian job market. Whether you are starting your career, changing careers, or looking for work in Canada, this program provides the tools, knowledge, and support you need to succeed.

Participants also receive personalized one-on-one employment counselling to help identify career goals, develop an employment plan, and build confidence throughout their job search.

Eligibility Clients

• Immigrant women who are permanent residents, convention refugees, work permit holders or naturalized Canadian Citizens with language or cultural barriers to employment
• Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 or higher

What You’ll Learn

Employment Workshops cover a variety of topics, including career planning, job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, Canadian workplace culture, transferable skills, LinkedIn, and more.

Accounting Software Training (QuickBooks and Simply Accounting) is available to Permanent Residents and Canadian Citizens who have education and/or work experience in accounting from their home country and a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 6.

Skill Development and Networking Support for Young Immigrant Women helps women aged 15 to 29 develop financial literacy, expand their professional networks, connect with career mentors, and build the skills needed to achieve their employment goals.

Employment Integration & Advancement Services Project provides eligible participants with computer training, job search support, and certifications in First Aid, WHMIS, and ProServe. It is available to immigrant women with CLB 5–6 who live in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or the Northwest Territories. Computer training includes Computer Basics, Microsoft Office Suite, Digital Marketing and Social Media Management, Graphic Design, Cloud Services, Cloud Storage and Cybersecurity, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, and Power BI.
