Family Resource Network – Immigrant/Newcomer (non-geographic)

The Family Resource Network (FRN) is an inclusive and accessible family-focused, child and youth-centered, community-based center that offers a full continuum of prevention and early intervention services focused on supporting the wellbeing of families with children and youth aged 0 – 18 years.

The Family Resource Network will provide access to a range of services based on three core service delivery domains of

  • Child Development and Well-Being Supports
  • Caregiver Capacity Building Supports
  • Social Connections and Supports

Coordination of Services and Referral

The program helps families navigate the Family Resource Network and connect families to services, programs and resources available in Calgary based on their needs.

Cross Cultural Parenting - Post Conflict Program

The program helps immigrant parents cope with parenting challenges in a new country and culture.

HIPPY - Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters

The program provides immigrant women and their families support with literacy skills to prepare their preschool aged children for school.

Home Visitation Program

The program provides targeted and intensive home visitation services to build the capacity of parents (immigrant, new Canadian, Indigenous, and Canadian) with children under 6 years of age residing in Calgary. The goal of the program is to offer caregiver education and family support services to increase knowledge of parenting and child development, enhance parental resilience and community connections through strength-based home visitation services.

Immigrant Girls, Boys and More Program

The program aims to strengthen social connections and increase support of immigrant youth by building individual capacity, increasing social ties, and improving emotional well-being/social competence.

Rapid Access Counselling

Rapid Access Counselling provides your family with a supportive, change-focused conversation at the right time.
