Program Description

I am Human Not a Race project aims to promote and engage racialized and immigrant girls in discussions on multiculturalism, diversity, racism and discrimination by providing them the knowledge, skills, capacity and confidence to live freely without prejudice, promote antiracism behaviors and work towards discrimination-free environment.

Program Details

  • Leadership development and public speaking skills
  • Contribute to a discrimination-free community
  • Project development to showcase at a learning symposium
  • Training on diversity, inclusion, anti-oppression, stereotyping, anti-racism, media engagement, conflict resolution, power and privilege, identity, and multiculturalism

Eligible Clients

I am Human Not a Race Project is open to all immigrant and racialized youth ages of 14 and 19.

Additional Program Information

    • Project participants build practical skills in the areas of advocacy and conflict resolution
    • Project participants increase capacity to conduct anti-racism activities
    • Referrals to community resources
    • Activities take place during lunchtime and after school hours
    • Transportation and counselling support available
