Security Guard Training

Program Description

Security Guard Training helps you become job-ready in just 6 weeks.
In this program, you’ll learn everything you need to start a career in security, including Alberta Basic Security Training (ABST) material and preparation for the Alberta Security License exam.

You’ll gain practical skills in emergency response, communication, health and safety, and understanding the Canadian legal system. The program also focuses on observation skills and writing clear incident reports—key skills for working as a security guard.

• Digital skills enhancement in Microsoft Word and Outlook
• 6 months of job search support
• Child care and transit support
• Our Career Counsellor will help with:
  • a professional resume and cover letter
  • job search techniques
  • job interview practice
  • a LinkedIn profile

Eligible Clients

The program is available to immigrant women who are permanent residents with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 5-6.
