Bridging the Gap for Accountants
Program Description
This full-time 12-week employment training program is designed to help professional immigrant women with accounting or finance background practice their skills and gain relevant knowledge to join the Canadian workforce in a professional field. Career planning includes individualized labor market assessment, employment skill building, and job search support. The program offers three intakes each year, in April, August, and November. With classes held Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Eligibility Clients
- Immigrant women who are permanent residents or Convention refugees
- Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 or higher
- Post-secondary education
- Unemployed or underemployed
- Educated in accounting or finance
- Preferably with one year of professional experience outside of Canada
- Participants who can commit to a full-time, in-person program for 3 months
