CIWA works with over 150 business partners each and every year, and these partners make a significant impact in our community – by volunteering their time, their knowledge and insights, their space, or offering employment to newcomers in Calgary.
This month, we would like to highlight Calgary Board of Education (CBE) and its commitment to empowerment through learning. Calgary Board of Education is the largest school district in Western Canada offering a breadth of programs and supports that meet the unique learning needs and interests of an increasingly diverse population.
Calgary Board of Education has been a valuable partner to many of CIWA’s programs including Youth Program, One-on-One Counselling, Civic Engagement, and Cross Cultural Parenting. In February of 2021, CBE started its partnership with CIWA’s Modular Training Program, which has led to the onboarding of 9 of our clients for contract positions.
Thank you, Calgary Board of Education, for supporting the overall wellbeing and economic security of immigrant and refugee women and girls in Calgary. Thank you for helping build a stronger community!
