Modular Employment Training

Program Description

The Modular Employment Training Program helps immigrant women gain the practical skills and hands-on experience needed to start a career in housekeeping and related service roles in Canada. Participants receive industry-specific training and employment support to prepare for positions such as Housekeeper, Room Attendant, and Kitchen Helper.

The program offers three training streams over 11 weeks, with four intakes each year and flexible morning or afternoon classes. Participants may complete all three training streams or or choose the one that best matches their career goals.

Eligibility Clients

• Immigrant women who are permanent residents or convention refugees
• Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 2-4
•  Over 18 years of age
• Have less than 12 years of formal education

What You’ll Learn

• Practical Occupational Training
  Develop the hands-on skills needed to work as a Housekeeper, Room Attendant, or Kitchen Helper. Training includes health and safety, customer service, workplace expectations, teamwork, and the practical skills employers are looking for.
• Job Readiness Skills
  Build the confidence to enter the Canadian workforce through resume writing, interview preparation, job search support, and an understanding of Canadian workplace expectations.
• Industry-Recognized Certifications
  Earn WHMIS and Alberta Food Safety Basics certifications to strengthen your resume and improve your employment opportunities in the hospitality and service industry.
