Modular Employment

Program Description

Modular Employment Training provides low skilled immigrant women training to enter housekeeping, room attendant and kitchen help roles. Training includes health and safety, working with others, workplace expectations, customer service, schedules and phones, interview skills, job search, kitchen help, WHMIS, room attendant skills, and more. Clients receive one on one resume and job search assistance. The program class starts Monday and accepts new clients year-round. The program is available to immigrant and refugee women who are permanent residents and CUAET holders with Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 2-4.

Program Details

  • Weeks or months of training vary depending on client’s employment plan
  • Training modules in areas such as health and safety, working with others, workplace expectations, customer service, schedules and phones, interview skills, job search, weights and measures, WHMIS, room attendant skills, and more
  • Certificate in Alberta Food Safety Basics available
  • Resume and job search assistance
  • Flexible class schedules, morning and/or afternoon

Eligible Clients

The program is available to immigrant and refugee women who are permanent residents and CUAET holders, have no more than 12 years of schooling and Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) 2-4,  and require support in obtaining meaningful employment.

  • Program operates on a rolling entry basis; interested clients may enter right away
  • Transportation support is available
  • Childcare is available (restrictions may apply)
  • First language support is available
