CIWA works with over 150 business partners each and every year, and these partners make a significant impact in our community – by volunteering their time, their knowledge and insights, their space, or offering employment to newcomers in Calgary.
Streetside Grill and Café opened in May of 2020 through Chef Marlon’s passion in cooking and Edwin and Ferdi’s courage to face inevitable challenges during the pandemic. The owners are grateful to have overcome difficulties along the way. They are proud of the quality of food and service they provide to their guests.
For the month of September, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Streetside Grill and Café, a restaurant that serves all-day Western and Filipino breakfasts, working lunches, formal and casual dinners. Streetside Grill and Café prepares their food from scratch with ingredients sourced from local farmers markets.
Streetside Grill and Café started to partner with CIWA’s Line Cook Training Program in July of 2021. Chef Marlon provides Lunch and Learn activity for our clients that also help build their confidence to work in the kitchen.
Thank you, Streetside Grill and Café and Chef Marlon, for supporting the workplace readiness of immigrant and refugee women in Calgary and for making our community stronger!
