Hajar Kacem

Hajar Kacem is Director of Regulatory Compliance at Capital Power Corporation, an Alberta – based and publicly listed North American power generation company. Prior to joining Capital Power, she worked for two other large Canadian renewable energy and utility companies, building and implementing corporate programs with a focus on governance, grid reliability, risk management, and energy & natural gas markets. Over the past ten years, Hajar has built a reputation for being a problem solver and has a successful track record of managing a multitude of regulatory processes with both Canadian and U.S. based energy regulatory agencies.

She holds a joint Honours BSc in Mathematics and Economics as well as a Masters of Economics, both from the University of Ottawa.

Hajar was born in Morocco and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1990. Her diverse experience living in both small towns and big cities has provided her with a deep appreciation for various ways of life. She is honoured to be involved with an association that aligns with her values and beliefs, but most of all that is making a direct impact in people’s life and our community.
