Amazon Donates to Immigrant Women and Girls in Need
Amazon has donated $50,000 to Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association in support of Food Security and Emergency Housing Support for Immigrant Women and their Families and Girls with Goals initiatives.
Calgary Immigrant Women’s Association (CIWA) serves an average of over 15,000 immigrant women, girls and their families each year through individual and group services. CIWA supports with settlement needs, language and employment training, family matters and more to empower immigrant women and enrich Canadian society.
Amazon’s supports will help CIWA address food insecurity and prevent homelessness among immigrant women fleeing abusive situation and immigrant families at risk of eviction. The donation will also help remove barriers for low income immigrant girls to explore and pursue educational, recreational, artistic and/or other personal goals.
Thank you, Amazon, for supporting CIWA’s work to empower immigrant women, girls and their families.
