In line with our past year’s achievements, we were deeply honored to receive the much coveted Canadian Accreditation Council certificates and seals presented by Dee Gerro and Nadine Lafferty. More details on this to come soon!
Every year, the AGM conducts the election for CIWA’s Board of Directors. We are pleased to announce our Board Slate for the 2024-2025.
In addition, this year was the 10th year of the Gerda R. Bloemraad Educational Scholarship. We were thrilled to celebrate Gerda R. Bloemraad’s unwavering support to our clients. Gerda is CIWA’s longest continuous scholarship donor!
Congratulations to this year’s Gerda R. Bloemraad Educational Scholarship Recipients: Estefania Patino Reyes from Colombia and Behnaz Hakimzada from Kabul, Afghanistan!
Finally, we were pleased to share the outcomes of the initial stage of CIWA’s Brand Refresh at the AGM. We unveiled the early concepts for a refreshed brand identity with a stronger visual language, painting a more vivid image of the lives we change here every day.
With the guidance from our stakeholders, the design team created a brand identity that anchors on aspects of our mission to serve outside of the borders of Calgary. More importantly, the refreshed brand identity pulls from the characteristics of the women we serve. It will tell a clearer HUMAN story – the resolve and tenacity that comes with the vision to reestablish lives in a new country.
This year, we are eager to develop CIWA’s new assets and launch the refreshed brand identity at next year’s AGM.
A special thank you to Ovintiv for the beautiful space provided to us at The Bow.
