- Presentations from industry experts in education, legal service, health services, family services and private industry
- Community Interpreter Language and Interpreting Skills Assessment Tool (CILISAT) preparation classes to increase employability
- Preparation for interpretation and translation for CIWA and community organizations
- Employment support and employment related workshops
- Computer training in Microsoft Office applications:
- Word
- Excel
- Publisher
- PowerPoint
Eligible Clients
To qualify for the program, a candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Canadian Permanent Resident
- Be registered as CIWA volunteer
- Have minimum CLB 7 in all strands
- Provide proof of proficiency in a second language
- Be able to commit to a 5 month full-time training program followed by interpretation and translation assignments
- Demonstrate interest in and commitment to becoming a certified Community Interpreter

- October 7, 2019 – February 28, 2020
- April 6, 2020 – August 24, 2020
