Home Visitation Program
Program Description
The program provides targeted and intensive home visitation services to build the capacity of parents (immigrant, new Canadian, Indigenous, and Canadian) with children under 6 years of age residing in Calgary. The goal of the program is to offer caregiver education and family support services to increase knowledge of parenting and child development, enhance parental resilience and community connections through strength-based home visitation services.
Program Details
- Weekly home visitation for parents of children 0- 6 years of age
- Program follows the Nurturing Parenting Program Curriculum
- First language and culturally sensitive support
- The program equips parents with necessary skills on parenting and postpartum depression support
- The program helps families access family health, nutrition and community resources
Eligible Clients
The program is available for parents of all immigration status with children between 0 – 6 years of age residing in Calgary
Additional Program Information
- The program is available throughout Calgary
- Referrals to other Family Resources Network Hubs and Spokes in Calgary based on the needs of the clients
- Referrals to other agencies in Calgary to help with access to additional supports
- Referrals to other CIWA programs help participants access additional support
- First language support is available
