Modular Employment Training

Program Description

The training provides low skilled immigrant women the skills required to enter housekeeping, room attendant and kitchen help roles. Training includes health and safety, working with others, workplace expectations, customer service, schedules and phones, interview skills, job search, kitchen help, WHMIS, room attendant skills, and more.

Program Details

  • Weeks or months of training vary depending on client’s employment plan

  • Classes start every Monday and accept new clients on an ongoing basis

  • Certification in Alberta Food Safety Basics is available

  • Resume and job search assistance

  • Flexible class schedules, morning and/or afternoon

Eligible Clients

The training is available to immigrant women who are permanent residents and convention refugees with no more than 12 years of schooling and CLB level between 1-4.

Additional Program Information

  • Program operates on a rolling entry basis; interested clients may enter right away
  • Transportation support is available
  • Childcare is available (restrictions may apply)
  • First language support is available
