Collaborative Action Towards a Society Free of Gender-Based Violence
Program Description
The project addresses the need for a customized multi-pronged approach to breaking down barriers that perpetuate gender based violence and inequality among immigrant women, including:
- Working with ethnocultural/religious communities to address attitudinal barriers, cultural beliefs and practices that may contribute to gender inequality
- Working with service providers in law enforcement, justice, health, education, etc. to enhance collaboration and overcome cultural, communication, financial, and attitudinal barriers impacting services for immigrant women fleeing gender-based violence
Program Details
- Development and implementation of prevention focused measures to address gender-based violence in collaboration with community leaders and service providers
- Creating linkages between ethnocultural communities, religious communities, and service providers to increase to strengthen the collaborative work around gender-based violence prevention
