Sandy O’Connor
Board Chair
Sandy O’Connor is an experienced business leader specializing in power sector governance, compliance and risk management. With a career spanning over 30 years in the power sector, she has a proven track record of delivering results in complex business environments. Sandy recently retired from TransAlta, and is now consulting independently. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Calgary.
Sandy brings a broad depth of board experience both within the power industry and in the not-for-profit sector, currently serving as a member of the Calgary Stampede’s Board of Directors, where she serves on the Governance and People, Strategy, and Pension Committees. She previously served on the Calgary Stampede’s Audit and Finance Committee.
Sandy lives on a small ranch outside of Calgary with her husband and enjoys spending time with their horses and travelling.
