Alishah Janmohamed

Alishah is currently the Director of Assurance and Advisory at Mount Royal University reporting functionally to the Audit and Risk Committee.  She is a Chartered Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner with over 25 years of experience in internal investigations and auditing and has led internal audit departments in the Oil and Gas and Utilities sectors. Alishah is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) Program. Alishah is passionate about creating cohesive teams that focus on organizational efficiencies and effectiveness.

Alishah has extensive experience in serving on boards of not-for-profit organizations. She currently serves as the Board Treasurer of the Youth Centres of Calgary. She is the past President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners- Calgary Chapter. She served as a finance board member for the Grants and Review Board for the Prairies. She is also as a member on CIWA’s Governance Committee.

In 1996, Alishah immigrated from Tanzania and made Calgary her home. She has been actively involved in mentoring immigrant women and young children in her community. In her free time, Alishah loves to travel, read and volunteer teaching young children about ethics and civilizations.
