Meet Heather. As Business Development Coordinator, she works to foster partnerships that contribute to clients’ success.

Heather was born and raised in Ontario, and moved to Calgary two years ago, having spent the last few years living in several different provinces across the country. She first started at CIWA 10 months ago after hearing about the organization from a former employee, and moved into the role of Business Development Coordinator in November of last year.

Although Heather knows what it’s like to move to a new city or province, she can only imagine the challenges newcomers must face when they arrive in Canada for the first time.

“I am continuously inspired by the resilience, dedication, and strength of the women here at CIWA”
Heather is passionate about working at CIWA because she knows the work she does helps build a stronger Calgary. Her work gives back to the community by helping immigrant and refugee women gain valuable skills and build fulfilling lives here in Canada. As the Business Development Coordinator, she has the opportunity to be able to connect with business partners and community organizations from diverse areas.
“I love being able meet and get to know people from all walks of life”
Heather loves working at CIWA because of the friendly, collaborative, and engaging environment.
“I enjoy spending time in a workplace full of strong, diverse, intelligent women who are welcoming and supportive of one another”

Outside of work, Heather enjoys hiking and camping, reading a good book with her cat, and spending time with her friends and family.
