Board of Directors
The elected Board of Directors governs the Canadian Immigrant Women’s Association. CIWA’s Board is composed of not less than nine (9) and not more than fifteen (15) full Board members. A minimum of 2/3 of the Board of Directors must be immigrants to Canada. The Chief Executive Officer attends all Board meetings but does not vote and acts as an advisor to the Board and all Board committees. The Board employs consensus-based decision-making. In the past year, the Board has updated its policies, created efficient operating procedures, and strengthened the governance framework for the organization.
