Supports for Immigrants and Refugees with Mental Health and Addiction Issues: A culturally sensitive approach
Program Description
Supports for Immigrants and Refugees with Mental Health and Addiction Issues project ensures that immigrants and newcomers are able to identify and seek support for addiction issues impacting their lives and build their resilience. The project enables them to feel safe and empowered to enhance their and their family’s well-being. Through this project, immigrants dealing with these issues will be able to reclaim their self-esteem and confidence to be in control of their lives and become positive role models for their children.
Program Details
- Professional, first language, culturally sensitive support for immigrants and refugees women and their families
- Individual, couple and family counselling
- Support groups for men and women
- Referrals to community and clinical resources based on individual needs of clients
- Educational workshops
Eligible Clients
The program is available for immigrant women and men who are permanent residents, refugees and Canadian citizens.
Free childcare and first language support is available.
