Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada

Program Description

Our language training program is specifically designed to assist immigrant women who are permanent residents in learning English. We provide comprehensive support to enhance their language skills and facilitate their integration into Canadian society.

Program Details

  • English language education: We offer flexible part-time and full-time English language classes based on continuous intake. Our curriculum focuses on reading, writing, pronunciation, and overall language proficiency improvement.
  • Free childcare: We understand the importance of accessibility, which is why we provide free childcare services for children aged 6 months to 6 years, allowing mothers to attend classes with peace of mind.
  • One-on-one language support: Individualized attention and support are available to address specific language challenges and ensure personalized learning experiences.
  • Communication enhancement: Guest speakers from diverse backgrounds provide valuable learning experiences and cultural insights, enriching participants’ language development journey.
  • Digital literacy: We incorporate technology into our program to support language learning, utilizing computers and other technologies to enhance digital literacy skills.
  • Health education: We provide health education sessions to promote well-being and empower participants with important information related to healthcare in Canada.
  • Community resources information and referrals: We offer guidance and information on available community resources, ensuring participants have access to support services that contribute to their overall settlement success.

Eligible Clients

Our language training program is open to all permanent residents. Enrollment requires a Canadian Language Benchmark assessment (CLBA) to determine the appropriate level of language instruction

  • First language support is available.

Part-time classes

  • CLB 1, 2, 3, 4: Morning 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday to Thursday
  • CLB 1: Morning 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday
  • CLB 2-3, CLB 3-4: Afternoon 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Thursday
  • CLB 2-3, CLB 3-4: 9:00 AM – 3:15 PM, Saturdays

Full-time classes

  • CLB 3 & CLB 4: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Special Needs classes

  • CLB 1-3: Afternoon 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Thursday (one-on-one support)
