Childcare Training Pathway

Program Description

Childcare Training Pathway trains and assists low skilled immigrant women to obtain a Level 1 Early Childhood Educator Certificate. Clients receive English language enhancement, skills for success and employment skills training. The program is available to immigrant women with less than twelve years of education and Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 3-5. Eligible clients include permanent residents, convention refugees and Canadian citizens with language and cultural barriers.

Program Details

  • 26 weeks of in-class training
  • 4 weeks of applied skill development
  • Gain skills required of a Level 1 Early Childhood Educator
  • Employment skills development
  • Basic skills and ESL
  • First Aid and CPR Certification

Eligible Clients

The program is available to immigrant women with no more than 12 years of education and Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 3-5. Eligible clients include permanent residents, convention refugees and Canadian citizens with language and cultural barriers.

Additional Program Information

  • Level 1 Early Childhood Educator is offered in collaboration with Bow Valley College
  • Qualifying participants access support services


    The program offers two intakes a year:

  • May, 2023 – December, 2023
  • November, 2023 – June, 2024
