January 25, 2023, CIWA had the honor to recognize 10 outstanding women who demonstrated exceptional qualities and outstanding service to our Province.
The Honorable Minister, Tanya Fir presented one of Alberta’s highest honors of the year – the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta).
The award recognizes excellent contributors who have invested significant dedication to their communities in honor of Her Majesty’s 70th anniversary and service to Canada.

The Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal (Alberta) was created in 2022 by the Government of Alberta through the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Recognition Act. The medal is being awarded to 7000 deserving Albertans through collaboration with provincial partners to ensure an equitable representation of all regions and all fields of endeavor.
