DESCRIPTION:The Pathways to Success program serves immigrant girls between the ages of 14 and 21 to enhance their career readiness through a yearlong career-focused mentorship. The youth are paired with mentors who have similar career/education interest and can relate to the challenges mentees face when settling in a new country and adjusting to a new culture. \nThe program offers – training for the mentors\, field trips to job fairs\, educational institutions and community resources\, one-on-one consultation with mentors\, interactive employment and career-focused group workshops and 20-hour job shadow experience for the mentees. DESCRIPTION:Register with your PR card for a week of training at CIWA for Civic Engagement and Leadership.  Learn about your rights and freedoms in Canada.  Talk about how to get active in the community so you can volunteer to get Canadian experience or advocate for your passions in social justice.  Join us to learn more about the value of voting when you are a citizen.  Once you have completed the training we have a special class for you to create your very own presentation.  On the final day of the course you will be able to present your ideas to an invited group of women who are interested in Civic Engagement. \nWe will be training from February 6-10\, 2023 from 9:00am-12:00pm at CIWA. \nThis course is open to young women ages 18-24. \nContact Shannon Edeonu\, Program Coordinator\, at 403-263-4414 extension 199.
